Here’s what changed this week in AI tools: pricing shifts, new features, and platform updates worth knowing about if you use AI in your marketing or content workflow.
OpenAI: ChatGPT Ads open up across 31 European markets
OpenAI began serving ChatGPT ads in 31 European countries on August 24, six months after the US launch. Access runs through OpenAI’s ads team, agency partners, and technology partners for now, with self-service Ads Manager coming later. Ads only show to Free and Go users, so Plus, Pro, and Enterprise accounts stay clean.

YouTube: A view now counts from the first frame
As of August 24, YouTube counts a public view the moment a video starts playing, across all formats. Your public view counts will jump, but monetization and Partner Program eligibility still run on the new “engaged views” metric in Studio. If you report on creator campaigns, treat August 24 as a break in your data series and switch year-over-year comparisons to engaged views.

Canva: Code 2.0 ships to everyone, plus a Google AI Mode connector
Canva Code 2.0 is now open to the full community, adding HTML importing so you can build interactive, on-brand experiences without a developer. Canva also became the first design app connected to AI Mode in Google Search, meaning users can go from a search prompt straight into a template. If you publish landing pages or interactive lead magnets, this closes a gap you were probably paying a separate tool for.

OpusClip: B-roll no longer hijacks the whole frame
OpusClip expanded its B-roll layout options on August 19, letting you switch any B-roll clip to Picture-in-Picture or Split from the Layout menu. Previously B-roll took over the full frame, which meant cutting away from your speaker every time. This is a small change with real impact if you repurpose podcast or webinar footage into shorts.

ElevenLabs: Dubbing v2 lands in the API with 90+ languages
Dubbing v2 is now available through the ElevenLabs API, translating audio and video into more than 90 languages while preserving each speaker’s voice, tone, and pacing. The project-based structure keeps transcripts and translations as editable JSON, so you can fix one bad segment and regenerate only that region instead of the whole file. ElevenLabs also shipped CLI v1.0.0 on August 24 for teams scripting bulk voice work.

Notion: AI moves from flat per-seat to a credit model
Notion restructured its AI add-on from a flat per-seat fee to credits at roughly $10 per 1,000 monthly AI credits, and adjusted core plans at the same time: Plus dropped to $10 per month while Business rose to $20. If your team leans on Notion AI for content briefs or meeting notes, model your actual usage before renewal instead of assuming the old per-seat math still holds.

Retail AI: Shoppers are ready for AI holiday shopping. Retailers are not.
Narvar’s 2026 Holiday Shopping Report, out August 24, found 65% of consumers plan to use AI for at least one part of their holiday shopping, while only 8% of retailers say they feel very confident using AI to improve the shopping experience. That gap is the opportunity. Product feeds, structured data, and clear answer-friendly copy are what get you surfaced when a shopper asks an assistant instead of browsing.
